Pre-Assigned CaseID
Requires Highly Disciplined Operations
Benefits:
- Removes need to manually scan LucidIDs into CaseIDs
- CaseID and LucidID labels generate at the same time
Drawbacks:
- Need to ensure CaseIDs and LucidID labels remain together after printing for alignment with label application
- Users could mispack case and lose the CaseID association
- Loses the quality control assurance of physically scanning into cases
- Broken labels of any nature (rip, mis-application, mis-print) all require manual correction
Unassigned CaseID
Allows Flexibility But Adds A Step
Benefits:
- Scanning into cases guarantees casing accuracy
- LucidIDs and CaseIDs can be generated and associated at different times
- Broken labels of any kind can be re-generated, printed, and scanned into correct CaseID
- Doesn’t require high discipline and training for staff
Drawbacks:
- Manually scanning adds a step
- Requires scanners to effectively scan at scale
