The LucidRetail Platform
LucidRetail is Lucid Green’s retail platform that provides functionality to retailers and enables use of LucidIDs and CaseIDs. LucidRetail provides a web console that provides access to both dispensary configuration and dispensary data.
LucidRetail Mobile is an iOS and Android native mobile App that provides access to LucidRetail as well as support for extended functionality while mobile in a retail store. In addition to allowing users to scan and manage LucidIDs and CaseIDs (either using the phone or tablet’s built in camera or a USB or Bluetooth connected imager), it also provides functionality for auditing / cycle counting and received inventory scanning.
LucidRetail LITE is a Chrome Extension that is installed on all retail POS and inventory management devices. It supports Windows and MacOS desktops (using Google Chrome , Microsoft Edge, or Mac OS Safari) as well as iPads (with Mac OS Safari).
How does LucidRetail LITE Work?
LucidRetail LITE is a Google Chrome extension that provides integration in Point of Sale (POS) systems. It works by interfacing with the POS pages and web apis while a POS user is interacting with a POS.
Once installed in a Chrome (or Edge) browser, LucidRetail LITE will activate whenever a user is signed into and viewing a supported POS page. LucidRetail LITE is implemented in such a way that it only is able to interact with POS systems when a legitimate POS user is signed into the POS, and the POS page is open in the frontmost tab in the browser.
When a user is accessing specific pages on the POS (inventory, product, and other related pages), LucidRetail LITE will install itself on supported pages and appear in the header of the POS display.

Once running on a supported POS page, LucidRetail LITE will provide the ability for retailers to scan LucidIDs and CaseIDs into both inventory records and retail POS carts (LucidIDs only), and will provide a translation layer to enable the POS system to understand the LucidIDs and CaseIDs being scanned. POS systems don’t natively have a way to understand how to handle a scanned LucidID or CaseID, and LucidRetail LITE translates the scanned LucidID or CaseID into something that the POS system can understand and act upon.
For Inventory Management, LucidRetail LITE enables retailers to scan in CaseIDs into inventory records to associate the contained LucidIDs with those inventory records for POS checkout and auditing/cycle-counting. Scanning a CaseID into an inventory record also activated InventoryAI on Dutchie POS, which will download and synchronize detailed Brand provided product and COA data into the POS.
For POS Checkout, LucidRetail LITE enables retailers to scan LucidIDs into POS carts (including pick-up and delivery fulfillment). LucidRetail LITE enables double-scan prevention, ensuring that users must scan each individual item being purchased instead of manually (and often inaccurately) scanning 1 item and adjusting purchase quantity manually (this practice leads to +1/-1 audit reconciliation issues) and accurate inventory management since the LucidID scan ensures that the item added to the cart is drawn from the correct recorded inventory for that item (when items are added to carts manually they can often be drawn from similar but non-matching inventory records).
Why is a Chrome Extension required for integration with POS Systems?
Most “common” integrations tend to rely on APIs that allow servers to interact with one another. I Heart Jane integration with Dutchie works in this way.
However, this type of integration presents 2 challenges:
- Treez, Dutchie, Cova and Flowhub provided APIs are limited and don’t allow for most or all inventory, product, and COA data to be pushed into these POS systems
- Since Treez, Dutchie, Cova and Flowhub don’t support item-level IDs nor LucidIDs, they aren’t able to support scanning LucidIDs for POS checkout
As a result of these limitations in POS systems, Lucid Green developed LucidRetail LITE as a Chrome Extension so that it can operate while users are interacting with POS web pages. This type of integration enables LucidRetail LITE to interact with both the content on the screen as well as data available and updatable via the same APIs that the POS web pages use.
As an example, if a user is able to browse and update inventory records, LucidRetail LITE will be able to retrieve data related to the scanned CaseIDs and make updates to those inventory records. Similarly, if a user is interacting with a POS Cart page and can scan items into the cart, LucidRetail LITE can intercept LucidID scans on the POS Cart page and replace the LucidID with the related inventory Metrc UID, resulting in the correct inventory item being scanned into the POS cart.
