When using LucidRetail LITE, you may encounter one or both of the following error messages:
- "Unable to load a required component. Try refreshing the page."
- "We couldn't retrieve your <POS system> user details. Try refreshing the page."
These errors occur when Google Chrome's Split View feature is active. Split View allows you to display two tabs side-by-side within a single Chrome window, but this mode is incompatible with LucidRetail LITE and will prevent it from functioning properly. Refreshing the page will not resolve the issue while Split View remains active.
How to Identify Chrome Split View
Chrome Split View displays two web pages side by side in a single browser window, separated by a vertical divider. If your Chrome window looks like it is showing two pages at once, Split View is likely active.
For more information about Chrome Split View, see Google's support page on Split View.
How to Fix This Issue
To resolve the error, exit Chrome Split View and return to a standard single-tab window:
- Hover over the vertical divider between the two tabs in the split window.
- Click the X icon or the close button that appears on the divider to close one side of the split.
- Alternatively, drag a tab out of the split window to separate it into its own window.
- Once you are back to a single-page view, refresh the LucidRetail LITE page.
LucidRetail LITE should now load and function normally.
Preventing This Issue
To avoid encountering this error in the future, do not use Chrome's Split View feature in the same window where LucidRetail LITE is running. If you need to view another page alongside LucidRetail LITE, open it in a separate Chrome window instead of using Split View.
Note: This issue is specific to Chrome's Split View feature. Using multiple separate Chrome windows or multiple tabs (without Split View) does not cause this problem.
