The following instructions will properly configure any Motorola/Zebra/Symbol DS Series presentation imagers and hand-held scanners. These instructions have been tested on the following models:
- DS2208 Digital Scanner
- DS4608 2D Barcode Scanner
- DS9208 Digital Scanner
- DS9308 Imaging Scanner

USB Wired Connection
Please ensure you follow all instructions below in order. Restart at the beginning to reset your scanner.
Important: Test the scanner at the end using the final step of the instructions to ensure your scanner is configured correctly.

Make sure your scanner is properly connected (via USB cable) to your computer.

Scan the following reset barcode:

You should hear 3 double beeps from your scanner, then it should reboot and beep its startup tones.

Scan the following barcode to enable a new line after the code is scanned:

You should hear 3 double beeps from your scanner.

ONLY FOR DS9208 (DS9308 automatically scans inverse QR codes): Scan the following barcode to enable Inverse QR code auto-detection:

You should hear 3 double beeps from your scanner.

Scan the following barcode to prevent the scanner from inverting the case of the LucidID when Caps Lock is enabled on the device keyboard:

If you don’t hear beeps, or are unsure if you scanned correct, you can scan the barcode above again.

Bluetooth Connection
- Scan the following reset barcode:

You should hear 3 double beeps from your scanner, then it should reboot and beep its startup tones.
- Scan the following barcode to enable a new line after the code is scanned:
- You should hear 3 double beeps from your scanner.
- Scan the following barcode to put your scanner into Bluetooth pairing mode:
- You will hear the scanner beep and the blue light on the top will start blinking.
- Go to the Bluetooth settings on the device you wish to pair the scanner to and select the scanner from the list of available devices.
- You should hear the scanner beep to confirm the connection.
- Test to make sure your scanner is working properly by following the instructions in Testing Your USB or Bluetooth Connected Barcode/QR Code Scanner for Proper Configuration
- Additionally, you can open the LucidSource or LucidRetail app on your device and use the articles in the next section to test that the scanner has been paired and configured properly using the Quick Scan feature.

Troubleshooting
- After resetting the scanner, if it opens different windows when scanning a QR code or tabs to different fields, you may need to uninstall and re-install Google Chrome.
- If you find that scanning a QR code or LucidID is not recognized by the POS system, you may need to unplug and re-plug in the USB scanner.
