The following instructions will properly configure ScanAvenger SA8900 Series Barcode scanners.
Please ensure you follow all instructions below in order. Restart at the beginning to reset the scanner.
Important: Test the scanner at the end using the final step of the instructions to ensure your scanner is configured correctly.
How to pair the scanner with the cradle (433Mhz Wireless Mode)
Method One
- Firstly, please connect the cradle and the PC via the USB cable. The cradle LED will show flashing green light.
- Press the trigger to turn on the scanner, then put the scanner right on the cradle and pull the trigger twice.
- When the pairing is completed, the scanner LED will show solid blue light, and the cradle LED will show solid green light.
Method Two
- Firstly, please read the setting code '433Mhz Wireless':
- Read 'Pairing'. The scanner LED will show flashing green light:
- Connect the cradle and the PC via the USB cable and wait for a few seconds. When the pairing is completed, the scanner LED will show solid blue light, and the cradle LED will show solid green light.
- Test to make sure your scanner is working properly by following the instructions in Testing Your USB or Bluetooth Connected Barcode/QR Code Scanner for Proper Configuration
- Additionally, you can open the LucidSource or LucidRetail app on your device and use the articles in the next section to test that the scanner has been paired and configured properly using the Quick Scan feature.
Bluetooth Connection
These settings are for cradleless mode only when the scanner connects to the host directly through Bluetooth.
- Firstly, please read the setting code 'BT HID':
- Read 'BT Pairing. The scanner LED will show flashing green and blue light:
- Turn on Bluetooth on your device, then pair your device with BarCode Scanner HID'.
- Test to make sure your scanner is working properly by following the instructions in Testing Your USB or Bluetooth Connected Barcode/QR Code Scanner for Proper Configuration
- Additionally, you can open the LucidSource or LucidRetail app on your device and use the articles in the next section to test that the scanner has been paired and configured properly using the Quick Scan feature.

Troubleshooting
- After resetting the scanner, if it opens different windows when scanning a QR code or tabs to different fields, you may need to uninstall and re-install Google Chrome.
- If you find that scanning a QR code or LucidID is not recognized by the POS system, you may need to unplug and re-plug in the USB scanner.
