If your scanner isn't working correctly on you POS or Inventory Terminal, follow these steps:
- Test your scanner configuration using our instructions: Testing Your USB or Bluetooth Connected Barcode/QR Code Scanner for Proper Configuration
- Reset your scanner's configuration. A list of supported scanners, including scannable reset codes, are available in our QR Code Scanners and Imagers help section of this site.

If you are using Windows 11 version 24H2, there are known issues with the built in USB drivers that have not yet been addressed by Microsoft. To find out which version of Windows 11 you are using, follow these instructions: What version of Windows am I running? You may need to either update Windows 11, or install drivers for your scanner provided by your hardware manufacturer.
Examples of scanner driver issues with Windows 11 version 24H2 are shown below. If you try to scan a LucidID into Windows Notepad, and the text in Windows Notepad looks similar to the following, you may be experiencing issues with the built-in Windows 11 24H2 drivers:

- For Zebra Scanners, follow these instructions: Using the Zebra 123Scan Utility for Windows to Update Scanner Firmware
- If you are using drivers provided by your hardware manufacturer, be sure to configure your scanner via any utility tool provided by your manufacturer. Zebra, for example, provides the 123Scan utility, which will override scanner settings configured using the scannable codes provided in step 2 above.
